Banque du Caire grants 1.6 billion Egyptian pounds to Cairo Metro Line 1 Project

In less than 3 years, Banque du Caire grants the second fund to The National Authority For Tunnels with a loan amounting 1.6 billion Egyptian pounds to renovate the fleet of trains for Cairo Metro Line 1 which is considered as the world's most populous train networks. Banque du Caire’s fund aims at upgrading the Cairo Metro line 1 service level that serves 2 million passengers daily.

Mr. Mounir El Zahed - Banque du Caire’s Chairman and CEO stated that transportation projects come at the forefront of the bank’s plans as one of the national projects that serve millions of citizens all over Egypt and supports the national economy as well.

Mr. El Zahed added that the bank has granted a fund to the 2nd phase of Cairo Metro Line 3 project with a loan amounting 590 million Egyptian pounds in November 2010.
